Overview
Designed by Gil Hanse — the architect behind the Olympic Course in Rio — Trump International Dubai is widely regarded as the finest course in the Middle East. The layout uses dramatic elevation changes unusual for Dubai, with dune-like mounding and deep bunkers creating a links-style feel in the desert. The conditioning is exceptional, with wall-to-wall turf that is immaculately maintained despite the harsh climate. The course has quickly established itself as the must-play in a region not short of options.
The Experience
Playing here feels different to other Dubai courses. The design is more strategic, the greens more complex, and the overall feel more authentic. Gil Hanse has created something that feels like it belongs in the landscape rather than being imposed upon it. The course is relatively quiet compared to other Dubai venues, and the service is predictably polished.
Signature Holes
The par-3 8th is framed by the Dubai skyline in the distance and features a dramatic bunker complex around the green. The par-5 18th offers a risk-reward finish, with water guarding the green for those attempting to reach in two.
